do you realize that when people consider killing themselves, they truly believe they have no other way out? they have considered the possibilities and weighed the outcomes and come to the conclusion that death is the only way they can escape their pain

now i’m not saying that’s the right way to think, it’s not, and death is never the answer

but i am saying that the mindset of someone who is suicidal doesn’t make sense to those who are not. i know that i’m loved and i would never consider taking my own life, but other people don’t see themselves that way

so no, suicide isn’t selfish, they legitimately believe it’s the only way
